Manitowoc County is home to rich heritage and fascinating history. Between our two sites, the Heritage Center (1701 Michigan Avenue) and Pinecrest Historical Village (924 Pinecrest Lane), the Manitowoc County Historical Society works to enrich the quality of life in our community by building connections to the past and providing interactive learning experiences.

The Manitowoc County Heritage Center

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for children, $12 for families

The Heritage Center is home to the remarkable Civil War Flag of Company A, hosts our flagship exhibit “What Makes Us Who We Are”, an archaeology exhibit featuring hundreds of Native American artifacts and and fascinating seasonal exhibits. Our staffed research library is available to researchers and history enthusiasts and features thousands of records, photographs, and books.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children, $15 for families

Located just 3 miles west of Manitowoc on County Highway JJ, Pinecrest Historical Village brings the past to life with over 25 historic buildings including homes, a one room school, cheese factory, blacksmith shop, and locomotive. Daily visitors can enjoy our “Voices from the Past” audio tour and school or community groups can schedule a guided tour.
